West Hill: History Comes Alive

Our developers believe a true community shouldn't be separated from its surroundings – it should seamlessly meld into its environment. That's why we chose Pensacola's vibrant and growing Belmont-DeVilliers neighborhood, also known as West Hill, for this project location.

Excitement and attention are growing in this historic area of Pensacola, which is currently undergoing a revitalization project to restore the area.  The intersection of Belmont and DeVilliers is at the center of this historically rich neighborhood, where it housed some of the area’s first major businesses and homes.

The neighborhood was home to a variety of ethnicities and cultures during the early 20th century, making it a melting pot for music, food, and entertainment.  The neighborhood is also home to some of Pensacola's original homes, characteristic of Southern style.  The Belmont-DeVilliers Building is constructed in the Masonry style and is surrounded by historic homes with classic Southern architecture, reflected in their front porches and traditional exterior sidings.
